I'm back with a two-part video dealing with the notion of loneliness and togetherness and how these respective feelings do not necessarily stem from being alone or being with people.
In this second part, the main character is surrounded with friends. However, she experiences the proverbial "alone at a party" feeling. She is not making eye contact with anyone, nor does she partake in whatever friendly banter that is going on.
I copy pasted the very same character from the first video because I wanted that one position, facial expression, colour scheme and overall demeanour, to convey opposite meanings. That faint "Mona Lisa" smile conveyed harmony and tranquillity in the first drawing but unease in this drawing.
The warm colour of the library (in the first drawing) are met with the cold colours of that second piece in order to emphasize the fact that when she is by herself she feels invigorated, whereas company depletes her. Further conveying that very same notion is the fact that she is eating in the first drawing, her cellphone literally shows her battery being recharged, whereas she's the only one not eating in the second drawing.
Until next time!
